We are convinced that it is the right of all human beings to enjoy a healthy life, Conscious of the fact that health of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes (DERMATOLOGICAL HEALTH) needs much attention throughout the region, Convinced that provision of good quality dermatological health is paramount to the achievement of good health for the entire body, Convinced that our dermatology and venereology problems are similar in our unique ways, Desirous to harness our human and material resources for the betterment of health of people, Dedicated to the general progress of our regional health and advancement of our Profession, Convinced by the necessity to federate African dermatological Societies.

Founded in the 9th of November 2012 in the City of Nairobi, at the Hotel Intercontinental, Kenya, the ASDV has a rich history marked by key milestones and significant achievements.
